Ron Rebenitsch

Ron Rebenitsch has an MBA and is a licensed professional engineer in 3 states. Ron is founder and CEO of Energy Engineering, Inc. and began consulting independently in 2012 after a 35-year career with Basin Electric Power Cooperative, one of the largest electric generation and transmission cooperatives in the U.S. with a service territory including 9 states. 

Ron’s career responsibilities include power plant engineering & construction, project management, distributed energy and key account marketing.  As Manager of Alternative Technologies at Basin, and asw VP of Basin’s wind subsidiaries Ron managed the siting, development, and commissioning of $600 million of Basin-owned wind generation, as well as development of 9 heat recovery generation projects; along with negotiation of other wind power purchase agreements.   

Ron also developed, implemented and managed Basin Electric's renewable energy credit marketing program.  His career experience includes involvement in roughly $3 Billion in utility and renewable energy projects. 

Ron also served 2 years as Executive Director for the South Dakota Wind Energy Association and has provided consulting services for a number of projects involving wind, solar, battery storage and biomass in locations ranging from New York to the Philippines.  

He also served as Site Manager and Owner’s Representative on two hydro-related projects in Alaska. Ron’s comprehensive grasp of industry issues covers alternative energy, carbon, power supply costs, deregulation & legislative policy.
